As a digital scrapbooker I like to make interesting scrapbooking gifts as presents for all of my friends and family (like personalized calendars, puzzles, mouse pads, coffee mugs, aprons, greeting cards, framed scrap pages, or photo/digital scrapbooking albums). I like taking the scrapbooking pages I scrap and turn them into gifts.

It all started when I made goal To Digitally Scrap One Page a Month is My Goal for this Year!

Every since then I make a new scrapbooking page once a month which I can use to make very special gifts.

I sometimes scrap with the great FREEBIES I get at Digital Scrapbooks and More! They give out a FREE Quick Page each month! Anyway, since I got lots of FREE Quick Pages from Digital Scrapbooks and More, then all I had to do to finish a digital scrapbooking page is to add my photos, then at the end of the year I turned them into calendars, albums, cards and more! Yes, it was that easy!!!

My goal or resolution started a few years back because prior to making this commitment I ran into this problem: being to busy in December to make all my scrapbooking pages and scrap gifts. Not being ready at the end of the year also made me miss out on great discounts at my favorite online printing companies! I ended up having to spend lots more money because I needed more time to scrap my pages, and missed the discount! Sadly sometimes I even missed the Holiday I was trying to scrap for because I couldn’t get ready at the last moment!!!

As a digital scrapbookers, I like to make interesting scrapbooking gifts as holiday presents for all of my friends and family (like personalized calendars, puzzles, mouse pads, coffee mugs, aprons, greeting cards, framed scrap pages, or photo/digital scrapbooking albums). It’s around that time that I receive emailed-coupons from many online printing companies offering huge discounts on the exact items I had been hoping to create and buy for others!

However, most of the time I end up missing these incredible online printing discounts for two unfortunate reasons:

First, these personalized gifts require a finished digital scrapbooking page in order to personalize the calendar, mug, or gift that is being so heavily discounted; and many times I just don’t have any new digital scrapbooking pages ready!

These special holiday discounts usually expire quickly maybe even that very same day, or just a few days later; which sometimes is not nearly enough time to pull all the pictures together and digitally scrap!

The second reason is that when  the deals show-up in my email inbox, it is usually the busiest time of year (with the holidays, family, friends, dinner parties, work parties, cooking this, eating that, and always being on-the-go!), and I am not always on my computer checking my email with everything I have going on! Sometimes I feel so rushed to participate in a spectacular online printing deal, and it’s so frustrating to be overwhelmed at such an already busy (and sometimes stressful) time of year!

The bottom line is that if I had some pre-made digital scrapbooking pages that were already ready-to-go, then when those wonderful sales showed up in my inbox, I could take full-advantage of them without feeling rushed, or without skipping the opportunity all-together! In prior years I missed the sales and discounts, but this year because I had get my goal of scrapping at least one scrap page a month I was able to take advantage of all the great deals! Plus I wasn’t exhausted because I had planned ahead!!

So, that said, I am going to keep this same goal this year too! So my New Year’s Resolution for this up-and-coming year: I WILL SCRAP ONE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING PAGE PER MONTH (and more than one page if I have time… but I can at least scrap one page!)

It doesn’t take much time to scrap one page. I usually take new digital photos every month, so it’s not like I don’t have new pictures that need to be scrapped! Not to mention, at the end of the month, last month’s digital scrapbooking supplies are often discounted; so I could buy them at a discounted rate and then scrap them each month.

Another good reason to do one each month is so that I don’t have to wait until the busiest time of the year (the end of the year) to scrap all of my digital photos from a busy and eventful year! Scrapping one page per month will give me time to relax and enjoy the holidays, instead of procrastinating and waiting until the last month to scrap all of that year’s activities.

And last, but not least, by scrapping one page per month I can always take advantage of the fabulous discounts on gifts made from my scrapbooking pages at the end of the year, now that I will be prepared with plenty of great digitally scrapped projects!

The great thing about digital scrapbooking is that I can take one digital scrapped page and make lots of fun gifts! Wow, that saves time! Accomplish your Goal by Using Quick Pages!

About two years later, in third grade, I rediscovered the journal in my room and read the last entry- the one I wrote. I found it so difficult to read (it was filled with 1^st grade spelling mistakes) that I translated that entry and then wrote a new one on the next page!

Every few years I would stumble upon this special journal and write a new update of my ever-changing life. And while I actually used to be an avid, almost every day “journaler” in my teens, I always seemed to lose this one particular journal and find it somewhere completely unexpected years later. I think that was what was so special about it. With just a turn of the page, I could see how much my handwriting improved, how my vocabulary advanced, and how my thoughts, feelings, and life evolved.

Some entries were long, others were really short, but in the end- it was just exciting that a new entry was there. Some years were good years, other years were hard, but again, it was great to see that as bad as things can get, a page later, life had a way of working itself out and I was happier than ever.

As much as I don’t tend to live in the moment, I do feel sometimes that I live day by day and forget the big picture of what a year can bring. I think may of us do this. But a journal like this can remind you of the big picture: that no matter what the ups and downs of life in a year may be, we all grow and change and can become better as people.

I think everyone should keep a similar journal, where there’s no obligation to write every day, but perhaps check in once a year to write a new entry (I think anyone can commit to that!). A simple update on how you’ve grown and changed, new experiences or challenges you’ve faced, and an overview of a good, bad, or average year. Nothing has to be “deep,” poetic, or perfect- just a simple reflection of what has happened and who you are every year.

As we approach the end of 2009, it’s time to take a minute to tell your story and say what this year has been for you. Digital Scrapbooking is a great way to journal your “2009 Journal Entry.” Try these ideas for your end-of-the-year digital scrapbooking reflections:

· Create a two page digital scrapbooking journal entry. Make one page all text: write about what this year has taught you, goals you’ve accomplished, and just an overview of your year. You may even want to include new goals, hopes, and dreams for the year ahead. On the second page, scrap a digital scrapbooking page with photos of favorite or meaningful moments throughout the year: a special birthday, a meaningful reunion, or a happy, simple day of doing absolutely nothing with friends and family. Add captions with dates, times, places, and people in the photos, or even include mini-stories explaining certain photos.

I went to the store and looked at the mouse pads – some with cats, some with landscapes, all “ok” but not really that great – and also to my surprise the were around $10! More than I thought they would be for off-the-shelf mouse pads!

So, I thought maybe I would make one with one of my digital scrapbooking pages instead! The regular price for this type of mouse pad is about $7 – $12. About the same price as the store bought ones, only with this one you make with your own digital scrapbooking page(s) and  can be of just the photos you want!

However, I was really surprise when I opened my holiday email and got a discount coupon at WinkFlash.com, an online printing company that just happened to be offering the best deal on mouse pads I had ever seen – mouse pads for only $1.99! Only thing – you had to order that day!

It was a no brainer for me – I had been thinking about making and ordering mouse pads and this price was really great! But I had to act quickly to get this great price! Lucky for me, I had just made a calendar with scrapbooking pages at another online printing company and already had the right kind of scrap pages made! I wanted to order 3 different mouse pads at this price! So I quickly uploaded my digital scrapbooking pages, pressed the mouse pad option and moved my scrap pages around so they fit the within the crop marks and then ordered my 3 mouse pads for only $6! Make sure you push the edit button and adjust your digital scrapbooking page within the crop marks – otherwise your scrap page mouse pad might get cut off in strange ways!  If you need to, after seeing how it will be cropped – you might want to make the adjustments in Photoshop or Elements to better fit the crop and then upload the image to the online printing company again – only this time with the corrected image!
