<p>Thanksgiving is around the corner and before we know it we will be rushing around the grocery store, baking up a storm and visiting with family and friends.</p>
<p>Sounds like fun, however for many family members, neighbors, and acquaintances the holidays are anything but fun.</p>
<p>Some of these wonderful people don’t have family close by to share a meal with, some may have lost a loved one during this time of year and it brings back those memories, and some may have financial struggles that keep them from celebrating in a manner that brings them peace and joy.<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/32339061.jpg"><img title="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" alt="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/32339061_thumb.jpg" border="0" width="164" height="244" align="right" /></a></p>
<p>How can we make the holidays pleasant for those around us that may struggle through them for one reason or another.</p>
<p>We can start looking around right now to see whose life we can try to brighten up and whose load we can lighten before the holiday is here.</p>
<p>Some suggestions I would like to make are simple but meaningful.</p>
<p>Giving service to a person in need is a wonderful way to lighten a burden. Rake leaves, sit and visit, invite them for a family activity or meal.</p>
<p>Maybe help someone by offering to babysit while them go to the grocery store. Do a Craft with your children and then take a neighbor a simple gift such as a homemade placemat made from autumn leaves and contact paper.<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/39174220.jpg"><img title="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" alt="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/39174220_thumb.jpg" border="0" width="244" height="164" /></a></p>
<p>Read someone a story or how about helping a child with their homework? There are so many things we can do to be of service to people of all ages that are around us.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/71366912.jpg"><img title="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" alt="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/71366912_thumb.jpg" border="0" width="244" height="163" /></a></p>
<p>So as I think about how busy my life is and how insanely busy the holidays become, I have a goal to slow down just enough to serve somebody else. <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/24235378.jpg"><img title="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" alt="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 3px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/24235378_thumb.jpg" border="0" width="244" height="188" /></a></p>
<p>More ideas might be as simple as making cookies for a friend, and take some time to talk to them, listening to what they have to say —<em>which is sometimes the greatest gift!</em></p>
<p>Ask about their family and sit and look through old photo albums with them, offer <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/39160830.jpg"><img title="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" alt="Celebrate Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November by Giving Service to others!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 3px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/39160830_thumb.jpg" border="0" width="244" height="164" align="right" /></a>to scan some of those photos for them.</p>
<p>You might put some of the scanned photos on a digital frame for them so they can enjoy their photos!</p>
<p>Also it is big help to help someone organize their digital photos, maybe even offering to scrap some of digital photos for them, <em>and show them how to get them printed out into albums!</em></p>
<p><em><strong>(Note:</strong> see the training for fixing scanned photos, training for organizing digital photos and see a mobile scanner that is handy to take to out – see these at bottom of this blog!)</em></p>
<p>Maybe in the process of doing service we will make a new friend, for <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-17-2011-3-51-30-PM.png"><img title="Save the memories, scrap them!" alt="Save the memories, scrap them!" style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 3px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-17-2011-3-51-30-PM_thumb.png" border="0" width="244" height="242" align="right" /></a>sure making a happy memory, and will spread some sunshine around.</p>
<p>Get your children involved, get your whole family part of the service, and when it is possible gather your friends to help out too!</p>
<p>Remember that no matter what your holiday looks like, it will always be happier if you can bring a smile to someone else’s face.</p>
<p>Also remember to take a camera to capture their smile, and yours of course!</p>

<h4>Three Tips For Better Halloween Photos</h4>
<p><em>– By Jennifer Barlow</em></p>
<p>It won’t be long until Halloween is here, so start getting prepared! If you’re excited to get camera-happy with those adorable little ghouls of yours this Halloween, then try these three digital photography quick-tips for super-spooky pics of your precious trick-or-treaters:</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3664424532x800.jpg"><img title="Take pics of makeup and costume before it gets too dark outside. " style="margin: 3px 3px 3px 0px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3664424532x800_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Take pics of makeup and costume before it gets too dark outside. " width="244" height="164" align="left" /></a> 1. <strong>Play Before the Full Moon Comes Out. </strong>To capture the true, vibrant colors of special costumes and makeup within your Halloween photos, you may want to take pictures of your little trick-or-treaters before it becomes dark outside. Taking photos while the sun’s still up will ensure great photos and will offer additional pictures of your kids in their costumes if your digital camera’s flash or other settings are less than ideal when it becomes dark outside.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/39202185.jpg"><img title="Take random photos of Halloween scenes" style="margin: 3px" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/39202185_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Take random photos of Halloween scenes" width="158" height="217" align="left" /></a> 2. <strong>Take a Random Photo or</strong> <strong>Set a Funny or Spooky Scene. </strong></p>
<p>If you come across a funny or spooky scene in your Halloween adventures, make sure and get the shot!</p>
<p>Use carved pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and holiday candy as props in the background of your exciting Halloween photos.</p>
<p>Ask your children to pretend as though they were ringing the doorbell at your own doorstep or pose with a favorite black cat for additional “action” trick-or-treating photo shots.</p>
<p>3. <strong>Use a Camera with Fast Shutter Option on Your Little Super Heroes. </strong>Costumes and candy can make for excited trick-or-treaters and <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/51472071025x682.jpg"><img title="Catch photos of your children in costomes" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/51472071025x682_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Catch photos of your children in costomes" width="164" height="244" align="right" /></a>blurry photos.</p>
<p>Lose the blur by either using a faster-shutter digital camera, or setting aside some special time before the holiday activities begin to take photos with a slower-shutter camera.</p>
<p>Remember: With slower shutter cameras, the kids and the photographer need to stay completely still for three seconds after clicking the button.</p>

<p>So one day you get ambitious and pull out one of those boxes stored in the basement, attic or closet and start scanning some of those old photos.</p>
<p>It is so nice to have those precious photographs turned into digital images.</p>
<p>As for me, I just got a mobile scanner and this has <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/scanner.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 3px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/scanner_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" width="244" height="240" align="left" /></a>made scanning so easy that I am scanning everything all the time.</p>
<p>So, I am not standing by my computer and scanner and putting one image in after another – BORING!</p>
<p>With my mobile scanner I scanning while I am watching TV!  I can get a photo album completely scanned while  I watch one of my favorite TV shows! This makes it easy! <em>(See info at the end of this article on this type of mobile scanner) </em></p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/mom.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/mom_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" width="106" height="136" align="right" /></a>Scanning photos to make them digital photos allow the photos to be enjoyed in many more ways than traditional printed photographs, and when they are turned into a digital photo then it is easy to preserve those memories forever!</p>
<p>Also, with photos in a digital format it is easy to organize them, share them, backup them, retouch them, digitally scrap them, and to reprint them too!</p>
<p>After scanning I want to save and share my old photos with family and I want to digitally scrap some of them to enjoy in new ways too!</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-5-20-59-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-5-20-59-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fix Scanned Photos with 6 Easy Steps!" width="314" height="311" /></a></p>
<p>However, sometimes after scanning photos and before I share, scrap, or organize my scanned photos I need to fix them up a bit.</p>
<h4>Fix those Scanned Photos NOW!</h4>
<p>One thing that is good to know about scanned photos is that if you <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/9-21-2011-8-29-20-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/9-21-2011-8-29-20-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements 10" width="180" height="244" align="right" /></a>have a graphics program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements it is <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">easy</span></strong> to photo edit and fix my scanned photos before I  use them in digital scrapbooking, genealogy, print them, or even before I make a final back-up copy for family.</p>
<p>Scanned photos have special needs that other digital photos might not need. Here are 6 things you should do to your scanned photos before you start using or sharing them. So, after you scan a photo follow these steps in this order to go from a simple scanned image to a great scanned photo!</p>
<p><strong>Step 1: Duplicate It!</strong> After all that scanning don&#8217;t ruin your original scanned photo by editing it and losing the original scan, make a <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-6-03-44-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 3px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-6-03-44-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="244" height="152" align="right" /></a>duplicate copy to work on!</p>
<p>If you use the copy of the original scan then you can make all the edits you like and if you ever want to go back and start over you have the original! </p>
<p>Also each year the technology to restore photos improves so if you have the original scan you can apply the newest technology at any time to the the original untouched scan! If you are using a graphics program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements then you can manually duplicate the photo or have Photoshop or Elements automatically copy all your scanned photos in a certain folder and then put the new copied ones in another separate folder too!</p>
<p><strong>Step 2:  Rotate It!</strong> After scanning a photo it may need to be rotated! Often scanned photos are saved in the wrong direction, this is not a big deal just use your graphic program to orientate the photo in the right direction.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-19-25-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-19-25-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="408" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>Photos need to be rotated before using them in projects like genealogy.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/GenealogyChart.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Genealogy Chart" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/GenealogyChart_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Genealogy Chart" width="262" height="190" /></a></p>
<p>Or rotated photo before you use them in a Digital Scrapbooking page.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-27-14-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Using scanned photos in digital scrapbooking pages" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-27-14-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Using scanned photos in digital scrapbooking pages" width="417" height="322" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3: Straighten it!<br />
</strong>Even after rotating a photo it might need to be straighten. Use the special tools in Photoshop or Elements to straighten the image.<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-33-23-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-33-23-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="426" height="217" /></a></p>
<p>Now the photo is straighter! Don’t worry about aligning it perfect in the scanner, just fix that afterward!</p>
<p><strong>Step 4: Crop it!<br />
</strong>After rotating and straightening the photo, next you might want to crop it. Sometime while scanning you pick up parts of extra photos or parts of the album, so to improve your scanned photo crop these unnecessary items out!<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-45-48-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-45-48-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="430" height="228" /></a></p>
<p>Now the photo is cropped you can use your precious photo in lots of ways! Digitally scrap it and even back it up and share it with other family members!</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-53-07-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Using scanned photos in digital scrapbooking pages" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-7-53-07-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Using scanned photos in digital scrapbooking pages" width="391" height="385" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5: Separate It!</strong> Save time and scan several photos together, now learn a quick way to separate them!</p>
<p>Go from this ….</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SCAN0832copy.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SCAN0832copy_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="164" height="244" /></a></p>
<p>To this….</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/separated-copy.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/separated-copy_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="378" height="169" /></a></p>
<p>When you scan more than one photo, have your graphic program automatically separate them into individual photos! Imagine how much time this will save you!!!</p>
<p><strong>Step 6: Fix it!<br />
</strong>The scanned photo needs to be fixed, make basic photo editing fixes like &#8212; take out <em>Red Eye, get rid of dust, clean up blemishes, and fix damaged photos!</em></p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-8-12-37-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-2-2011-8-12-37-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Fixing scanned photos in Photoshop Elements 10" width="439" height="205" /></a></p>

If so then you might be thinking that you might want to scan those photos so you can use them in your digital scrapbooking projects, keep a backup or just have them turned into digital to preserve them.</p>
<p><strong>Here is a new way to scan those old photos!</strong></p>
<p>Every once in awhile we come across a gadget the is nice to share with other digital scrapbookers.</p>
<p>This product seems especially interesting to us. If you are like us and have loads of old photos sitting around then you might want to try the <a href="http://flip-pal-affiliates.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=293" target="_blank">Flip-Pal Mobile Scanner</a></p>
<p><a href="http://flip-pal-affiliates.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=293_0_1_26" target="_blank"><img style="display: inline; float: right" title="Scan your Photos with a Mobile Scanner for Digital Scrapbooking Projects" border="0" alt="Scan your Photos with a Mobile Scanner for Digital Scrapbooking Projects" align="right" src="http://flip-pal-affiliates.com/idevaffiliate/banners/Ad 300x600.jpg" width="300" height="600" /></a></p>
<p>Here is an exciting tool to scan your photos because this scanner is compact, doesn’t have to be attached to a computer, and stores scanned images on a memory card!</p>
<p>According to the maker, the Flip-Pal mobile scanner can scan photos safely <em>while they are still in the album or frame!</em></p>
<p>Also according the the maker you can scan Photos, drawings, quilts, even small objects like coins or jewelry. Also they claim to scan Newspapers, bound books, albums and magazines!</p>
<p>We just ordered one and when it comes we will test it and let you know.</p>
<p>But here is how we imagine using first, is to take old photos in our album and make them digital then make a back-up&#160; copy so I can give my family copies too! Then digital scrapbooking any of the new digital photos!</p>
<p>As soon as we get our we will let you know how it goes!</p>
<p>In the meantime you might want to take a look at some of the Flip-Pal videos below:</p>
<p>Take a look at this and see how the manufacture of Flip-Pal uses this nice little scanner!</p>

<p><strong>So,</strong> today we will explain how to do have multiple views in <strong>PHOTOSHOP! </strong> Photoshop, can have multiple views of the same image or project! <strong>However</strong>, in <strong>Photoshop it <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-15-37-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-15-37-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Navigator in photoshop" width="35" height="40" align="right" /></a>works a little bit different</strong> than if you where using Photoshop Elements to do this task! In Photoshop we will use the Navigator Panel to help us have multiple views of an image to edit.</p>
<p>Also, in this example we are going to show how to use this the Navigator feature and we will be using a digital scrapbooking project instead of photo, but this feature works the same if you use a photo or a digital supply or a digital scrapbooking page!</p>
<h4>Multiple views of image in Photoshop for Photo Editing or Scrapbooking using Photoshop!</h4>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-42-14-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Multiple views of image in Photoshop for Photo Editing or Scrapbooking" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-42-14-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Multiple views of image in Photoshop for Photo Editing or Scrapbooking" width="240" height="244" align="right" /></a>When you are editing digital scrapbooking pages or supplies in Photoshop  some precision digital scrapbooking tasks may require you to work on your digital scrapbooking page while zooming in quite a bit. Using the zoom feature in Photoshop is the only way to see the image in enough detail to work effectively.</p>
<p>However, while zooming in is needed to see the area you are scrapping, you might also need to see how the area you are working on fits into the overall image or digital scrapbooking page. To do that you might find yourself zooming in to the scrap page, making part of the corrections and then zooming out to see how that looks. This can be a difficult task, but if you know one of the secrets inside of Photoshop then you can actually have two separate windows, both showing the same image. Not just a copy of the image, but the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">actual</span> image or digital scrap page.</p>
<p><strong><em>Here is how to do it in Photoshop CS5….</em></strong></p>
<p>To open dual windows of the same image, do this in Photoshop: go to the top menu and select <em><strong>Window &gt; Navigator</strong></em> from the drop down menu.<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-43-50-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Multiple views of image in Photoshop for Photo Editing or Scrapbooking" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-43-50-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Multiple views of image in Photoshop for Photo Editing or Scrapbooking" width="418" height="390" /></a></p>
<p>This opens the Navigator panel</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-49-56-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-2-49-56-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="405" height="316" /></a></p>
<p>Now you can move the slider bar on the Navigator to zoom into the area you want to work on.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-02-36-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-02-36-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="253" height="437" /></a></p>
<p>Then use your mouse to click onto the red box and move it exactly where you want it to focus in on. When you do this is makes the mouse curser look like  little hand that is holding the red box while you move it into place.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-03-22-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-03-22-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="273" height="474" /></a></p>
<p>Now your image or digital scrap project will show be zoomed in to the correct location so you can work on your photo or scrap page. In this example we want to get a good look at the text we are writing and make some corrections.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-08-00-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-08-00-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="414" height="342" /></a></p>
<p>We will zoom in so we can see how to add to the text and make the correct alignment of the text in the digital scrapbooking tag. See the image below:</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-15-13-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-15-13-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="410" height="351" /></a></p>
<p>This is a very helpful Photoshop tip. So you can zoom into your project and make adjustments while also being able to see the overall image and how the change impacts the whole.  Remember, this tip is so helpful to use in when editing photos and even when you are scrapping too.</p>
<p>If you need the Navigator to be larger to have a better view of the the overall image, then just go to the corner and drag the Navigator Panel to the size you would like – see the image below.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-24-03-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-24-03-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="437" height="463" /></a></p>
<p>If you need the Navigator out of the way then just click on the double triangles  &#8211; see below. This will collapse the panel and give you more working space.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-27-55-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-27-55-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="431" height="347" /></a></p>
<p>Now if you need to open the Navigator Panel just click on the icon.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-28-28-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-28-28-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="379" height="296" /></a>Now the Navigator Panel will open up to use again when you want to zoom into your project or photo and still have a whole view image too!</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-32-54-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Navigator Panel" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-21-2011-3-32-54-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Navigator Panel" width="364" height="312" /></a></p>
<p>Once you try this Photoshop tip you will probably fall in love with the Navigator, and use it most the time you are doing close up work with photo editing or scrapping!</p>
<p>Have a nice day and try this Photoshop tip today!</p>
<p><strong>Enjoy!</strong></p>

<p>Using the zoom feature in Elements is the only way to see the image in enough detail to work effectively.</p>
<p>However, while zooming in is needed to see the area you are editing, you might also need to see how the correction fits into the overall image. To do that you might find yourself zooming in to the image, making part of the corrections and then zooming out to see how that looks. This can be a difficult task, but if you know one of the secrets inside of Elements then you can  actually have two separate windows, both showing the same image. Not just a copy of the image, but the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">actual</span> image.</p>
<p><strong><em>Here is how to do it….</em></strong></p>
<p>To open dual windows of the same image, do this: select <em><strong>View &gt; New Window for DOCUMENT</strong></em> from the menu, the DOCUMENT or IMAGE is the name of the file you&#8217;re working on. For example our image is named “Girl_Hair.jpg” so the New Window will include that name on the menu too! <em>See the image below.</em></p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-33-33-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;" title="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-33-33-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" width="425" height="302" /></a></p>
<p>This will open another window of your image up in the work space. Notice that the new view of your image will be named the same and will be highlighted (<span style="color: #ff0000;">See #1</span>) and the other one the name will be faded (<span style="color: #ff0000;">See #2</span>)</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-38-10-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-38-10-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" width="447" height="292" /></a></p>
<p>Now that you have both windows are open at the same time, try zooming in on one image. You&#8217;ll notice that the other stays at the same magnification while you are zooming in on the other.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-43-15-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-43-15-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" width="444" height="316" /></a>When you make edits in one image, then they will appear in both windows. Now you will have a close up view and a whole image view.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-48-07-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-48-07-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" width="444" height="319" /></a></p>
<p>In the image above we took some of the extra fly away hairs off this girls neck with the spot healing tool. It was really helpful to have both the close up <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-54-42-PM.png"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/5-15-2011-6-54-42-PM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photoshop Elements photo editing tip" width="165" height="244" align="left" /></a>view to work with and also see how the whole image would be affected as well while making the edits.</p>
<p>Now save your image and close them.</p>
<p>This tip is so helpful to use in when editing photos and even when you are scrapping too.</p>
<p>Once you try this tip you will probably fall in love with it and use it most the time you are doing close up work with photo editing or scrapping!</p>
<p>Have a nice day and try this Photoshop Elements tip today!</p>
<p><strong>PS.</strong> Check back soon to find out how to do this in Photoshop!</p>

You might think Cougar?</p>
<p>Yes, Cougar, as in <strong><em>Mountain Lion</em></strong>! Who would have thought that a visitor like this would come wandering down the street. It did though, and as surprising as it is, it is not the first time.</p>
<p>A couple of years ago my neighbor called me and said he had something I had to check out over in his garden. So I went over expecting to look at a beautiful tomato. Did he ever surprise me.</p>
<p>Right next to his house, next to my garage there was a Mountain Lion print in the mud. It was clear as could be, <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/mud.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/mud_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" width="198" height="137" align="right" /></a>but to be sure, we called Fish and Game out to see it. They confirmed our suspicions and told us that it probably had come down out of the mountains or from the near by Indian Reservation and followed the empty canal that is across the street from our houses.</p>
<p>Yesterday however was a big deal. They were not letting any kids ride the buses or walk home because of the Cougar out by the bus stop. At first I laughed, and then it hit me, this is real, if one can be in my yard, why not at the bus stop. So we left the school and the rest of the day was spent looking out the window for the Cougar. As <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/30504624.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/30504624_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" width="211" height="179" align="left" /></a>my daughter said, the entire city changed it’s behavior because of one wild animal. I arrived at the school to pick up my 5th grade daughter and all of the parents were there picking up their children. They were going into the school and escorting the kids to the cars. I guess I had missed the call from the school asking me to pick my daughter up.</p>
<p>I chuckled at one of my friend’s posts on Facebook. Her husband is a local Police Officer. She said her husband had spent the day hunting, “for cougar”. The reality really hit when I looked at the news report on the internet. My friend that lives less than a forth of a mile<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/34841327.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;" title="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/34841327_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" width="209" height="244" align="right" /></a> from me had gone into her basement to light a fire in the wood burning stove. She glanced at the window that lies underneath her front deck and two shining eyes were staring back at her. Imagine the shock.</p>
<p>She ran upstairs and grabbed her camera and took a picture. She took another and the big animal started hissing and clawing at the window. She was done, she ran upstairs and called the police.</p>
<p>Well, it’s a great story to tell, but the point is, <em><strong>my friend had a camera handy</strong></em>. So now, all of us that didn’t get to see that big cat get to see the pictures she has posted.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/10008316.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; margin: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/10008316_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Have a camera ready for unexpected surprises" width="244" height="200" align="right" /></a>You never know what might happen in your home town, so keep that <strong>camera handy</strong>! Wishing you adventure in you photo taking!</p>

<p>Halloween is a great time to get photos for digital scrapbooking, here are 3 tips to get better Halloween Photos!</p>
" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3664424532x800_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Take pics of makeup and costume before it gets too dark outside.
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/39202185.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Take random photos of Halloween scenes" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/39202185_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Take random photos of Halloween scenes" width="158" height="217" align="left" /></a>  2.
</strong>Costumes and candy can make for excited trick-or-treaters and <a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/51472071025x682.jpg"><img style="display: inline; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="Catch photos of your children in costomes" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/51472071025x682_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Catch photos of your children in costomes" width="164" height="244" align="right" /></a>blurry photos.</p>
<h4>Use Photo Editing to Enhance your Halloween Photos!</h4>
<p>After your have your Halloween Photos then see if you can make then even scarier with Photo Editing tricks!</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/16221293.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Photo editing your Halloween photos" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/16221293_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo editing your Halloween photos" width="112" height="158" align="left" /></a> After Halloween is over, and you are ready to scrap all the<a href="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/1023201070934AM.png"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Photo editing your Halloween photos" src="http://blog.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/1023201070934AM_thumb.png" border="0" alt="Photo editing your Halloween photos" width="163" height="244" align="right" /></a> Halloween photos, add some “spooky” Halloween effects to favorite photos using <a href="http://www.shop.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/category.sc?categoryId=24">Digital Scrapbooks and More’s Halloween Photo Editing Tutorials</a>! <a href="http://www.shop.digitalscrapbooksandmore.com/product.sc?productId=158&amp;categoryId=24">Convert a favorite photo to black and white and then add a touch of color</a>, for an exciting Halloween photo-effect!</p>
