Starting a Culinary Lavender Garden

Find out how you can start your own Culinary Lavender Garden

Every since I found a culinary lavender plant at my local garden shop among the basil, dill and rosemary plants I have been obsessed with growing my own culinary lavender plants.. and cooking with it too!

In fact, recently in this blog I shared my favorite Lavender Lemonade Recipe made from Lavender I harvested from my own lavender plants! (See Lavender Lemonade and Digital Scrapping the Recipe )

Cooking with lavender is adventure and at first I wasn’t sure about it because it sounded like eating perfume.

Of course, I had bought lavender bath salts and lotions but the idea of eating lavender intrigued me. I wondered if it would taste like my lotion – if so that didn’t sound very good!

But… my sense of adventure took over and I decided to buy a plant and start my own lavender herb garden.

I planted my little culinary lavender plant into a big pot that overwhelmed the plant for the first year. By the end of summer I had a few buds to harvest. And by the next summer the plant had filled the pot completely and gave me an excellent harvest of luscious lavender buds! See the image above to see my culinary lavender garden in a pot.

The best part about growing you own is that it I know my variety of lavender buds is a culinary variety and it is grown without pesticides. Then when I cook with it I can feel confident about what I am getting, using and eating too.

Then, the next best thing about growing your own lavender is that I can turn the photos of my plant and flowers into digital scrapbooking supplies … but that is another story!

FYI: if you notice this digital scrapbooking kit you will see the above plant has been turned into a digital embellishment. That is right, you can turn your lavender photos into digital scrapbooking supplies!

Back to the garden story…..

Here is how I got started growing my Culinary Lavender Garden, and maybe it can be helpful for those of you wishing to start one too.

Seven Steps to Starting a Culinary Lavender Garden

1. Get a Culinary Lavender Plant: Getting a culinary variety and not using pesticides makes for lavender that you can eat and cook with. I have heard growing lavender from seed is hard… so go to your local nursery and ask for a culinary variety of lavender. Apparently there are a lot of different varieties of lavender – Do not use the toxic Spanish lavender variety. That is why asking your local nursery staff to help you pick a culinary variety. I found my lavender in the herb section, next to the basil and oregano! And it was labeled culinary lavender too!

2. Planting and Watering: Choose a planting site outdoors with full sun and well-drained, alkaline soil. You don’t have to have a acres to start planting lavender, I just got an old planting pot I had around the house and started my lavender plants. However, if you do have the space Lavender plants are suppose to grow better in the ground, but because for me space was limited I planted mine in a pot on my patio next to my house, along with some other potted plants. Lavender can become quite bushy so I trim mine after I take the buds. Lavender is drought tolerant plant and might not thrive in heavy, wet soil so water in moderation. My plant probably gets more water than recommended, but I think because it is planted in a pot that drains well so the soil doesn’t ever really get too soggy. In fact, I use a drip system and timer to water it automatically. (See the drip line in the image)

3. Trimming Lavender Plants: Cut off buds and dry them, or remove spent flowers after the first bloom to encourage more flowers. Use pruning shears to cut back the lavender plant to about 6 inches in height every 2 or 3 years. This will prevent the plant from becoming legging and scraggly, and promote a compact growth habit. You must cut your lavender plant back by 2 thirds each year after the flowers are past their best. Use hedge shears for large areas of lavender plants. Again I trim my potted lavender plant more often so it will look nice in my pot next to my geraniums.

4. Fertilize Lavender Plants: Once a year is adequate for fertilizing lavender. You only need a small amount of complete fertilizer. A little lime every 2 years is also good for lavenders too as they are “lime lovers” (they grow on limestone-based soils in their natural habitat). Fertilize them at the end of Winter so as the rains can wash the nutrient in to the soil ready for the Spring growth

5. Harvesting Fresh Lavender: Harvest flowers as you would fruit, selecting those that look most perfectly ready, with the fullest color, and passing over any that seem wilted or less ripe. The fresher the flower, the more flavorful its taste, so pick your flowers as close as possible to food preparation time. Stem flowers may be put in a glass of water in a cool place until you are ready to use them. All blooms should be thoroughly rinsed. Immerse them in water to remove any insects or soil. Then lay the flowers gently on paper or cloth towels and dab dry, or gently spin dry in a salad spinner. If necessary, layer blooms carefully between moist paper towels in the refrigerator until meal time.

6. Drying or Preserving Lavender: Do not dry Lavender or other herbs in the sun. Common wisdom says to “Dry them quickly,” but direct sun will cause lavender to fade, both in color and in intensity. Instead, you can spread them out flat to dry if you have unlimited table space. Or tie them in bundles and hang them upside down some place – preferably in a cool dark place. Once they are thoroughly dry take the buds off the stems and store them in containers, preferably glass or pottery with tightly fitting covers. Otherwise, the oils will escape over time. For long stems, try wrapping them in tissue paper and keeping them in a carton, drawer or chest. When storing freshly dried herbs in closed containers, you will do well to check them during the first weeks for signs of mildew. Turn them out now and then, spread the herbs loosely, sniff them, touch them, look closely. If all is well, re-pack them. For culinary use, remember that lavender is strong, so use sparingly in cooking.

7. Use the Culinary Lavender in Cooking:
Now start using your lavender! One recipe that is fun to try is my lemonade recipe – see Lavender Lemonade and Digital Scrapping the Recipe!

It is fun to try lavender recipes and scrap them too! Make a lavender recipe book with your lavender recipes!

Here is another Lavender recipes you might want to try:

Honey Lavender Ice Cream

Ingredients:
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup dried lavender
1/3 cup honey
5 large egg yolks (or egg beaters)
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream

Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine milk, lavender, and honey. Bring to a gentle boil, cover, and remove from heat. Let steep for 5 minutes. Strain mixture, reserving milk and discarding lavender. Combine egg yolks (or egg beaters) and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on medium-high speed until very thick and pale yellow, 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, return milk to a medium saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Add half the milk to egg-yolk mixture, and whisk until blended. Stir mixture into remaining milk, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon. Remove from heat, and immediately stir in cream. Strain mixture into a medium mixing bowl set in an ice-water bath, and let stand until chilled, stirring from time to time. Freeze in an ice-cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions. Store in an airtight plastic container up to 2 weeks.

7. Prepare your Lavender Plants for winter:
For those of you that live in cool weather you might want to protect your lavender plants. Spread a 2- to 3-inch layer of mulch around the base of the lavender plants in late fall. This will insulate the roots throughout winter and help conserve moisture in the soil. Remove the mulch layer in spring, after the last expected frost. Or if you have planted your lavender in a pot you might want to bring it into a warmer place. For those of you that live some place warmer just adjust your plant care for your climate. Since I live in California, I just leave my lavender plants outside where they grow during the winter months, even though I don’t get many blooms during this season.

Make your Multiple Seed Packet Embellishments using Photoshop Elements!

Have you been wanting to know how you can make your own personalized embellishments in Photoshop Elements for your own gardening project? If so, then check out this “How-to” article and learn how you can make a garden embellishment from your seed packages!

Scanning multiple seed Packets in Photoshop Elements For Garden Digital Scrapbooking Projects!

If you are a gardener like me, then you might like to turn some of your seed packets into digital scrapbook embellishments!

You can scan one seed packet at a time (like we mentioned in yesterdays blog), or you scan a couple of images at a one time in Photoshop Elements!

However, unless you can separate your multiple images, after they are scanned together they will become one image in Photoshop Elements!

Learn how to Scan Multiple images and Separate them in Photoshop Elements:

If you don’t know how to scan multiple images and separate them – it is very easy.

Let me give you that information – so you, like me can save some time and start working on those seed packets that you want to turn into digital scrapbooking embellishments!

First, add several of seed packets on a scanner bed, leave some space between the packets.

Next open up your Photoshop Elements software program.

Once you have opened Photoshop Elements In Editor Mode, you will need to scan the photos or images to your scanner

Go to FILE > IMPORT > “YOUR PRINTER”

If you have multiple printers/scanners, you will need to look through the list of printer/scanner options, and choose the scanner that you would like use to scan the images, photos or in this case seed packets.

Next, A pop-up menu will appear. Select Preview (see arrow in red) to view the scanned images (seed packets) and to make the adjustments

Move the boxes that surround the photo until it fits the way that you would like it around your picture

Then select Scan (see other arrow in red) to begin scanning.

The scanned images will appear in the work area, but the images are as one combined photo.

Don’t stop now – you are so close!

Next, go to the top menu and select Image > Divide Scanned Photos

Photoshop Elements will separate each of the individual images (seed packets), and put them in their own separate window. All you have to do is save each one and then you have all the images scanned and separated!

This is a very easy way to scan multiple images and to separate them quickly!

Plus Photoshop Elements is very good at getting the photos aligned straight, even if they are not put in the scanner that way!

This is a great tip for saving some time!

Now save them individually, and scrap your seed packets into a nice digital scrapbooking page!

Hope you try this at home with Photoshop Elements and you will quickly see how fun it is to add your own seed packets to your digital scrapbooking projects!

Ps. when you get all of your Veggie or Flower garden scrapped you might want to turn it into a digital garden album, to send to friends and family! Make a Flower Seed Packet Embellishment in Photoshop!

It is always nice to personalize your digital scrapbooking project with your own meaningful embellishments. So, learn how to scan a flower seed packet into Photoshop and turn it into a digital scrapbooking embellishment! See the following article for step by step instructions:

Now that it is is summer and if you like me are, planting flowers and vegetable gardens, then you might like to have some embellishments that match your garden.

It is easy and fun to make your own digital scrapbooking embellishments from scanned seed packets in Photoshop!

Follow along these simple steps in Photoshop so you can make your own digital scrapbooking Embellishment for your flower or Vegetable garden digital scrapbooking projects!

Here are the steps to do it:

First turn on your scanner, and add seed packet on your scanner bed.

If possible try to make it straight and in a good place on your scanner glass.

Close the lid and get ready to scan it using Photoshop and not the scanning software that came with your scanner!

Next open up your Photoshop software program.

Once you have opened Photoshop, you will need to scan the seed packet into your scanner

Go to FILE > IMPORT > WIA Support

Then, a Pop up window will appear. Select the file you want the photo to go to. If you need to browse to a new one select the Browse Button and go to the folder you want. Select the options and push the Start Button.

Next, another pop-up window will appear

Select the scanner you wish to use.

If you have multiple printers/scanners, you will need to look through the list of printer/scanner options, and choose the scanner that you would like use to scan the photos. After you have selected the scanner – click the OK button.

Then, A pop-up menu will appear. Select Preview (see arrow in red) to view the scanned photo and to make the adjustments

Move the boxes that surround the photo until it fits the way that you would like it around your picture

Then select Scan Button (see single arrow ) to begin scanning.

The scanned photos will appear in the work area the photos as one combined photo.

If you have extra area around your seed packet you might want to take the Crop tool and cut it away!

Then when it is trimmed up – save it.

Then use your new digital scrapbooking embellishment on your next Digital Scrapbooking project!

You can use your new digital scrapbooking embellishment with lots of different supplies to make many different kinds of scrapbooking pages using the same seed packet you just scanned!

Have fun trying this scanning technique to create a digital scrapbooking embellishment in Photoshop!

This Fall Digitally Scrap Roasted Pumpkin Seeds for a Family Activity!

When I was young my mother had certain recipes she would have us help her with in the Fall.

I remember that we used to get all the seeds from our pumpkins and squash. We would clean them and roast them for a special treat. It was such a fun family tradition, and I still have warm memories whenever I see pumpkin seeds!

Start a New Family Tradition with Roasting Pumpkin Seeds

This Fall or Halloween when you are eating squash or carving your pumpkin don’t throw away the seeds! Gathering up the pumpkin seeds and roasting them is a nice family activity.

Here are a few roasting pumpkin seed basics to get you started on this fun family activity

Basic Pumpkin Seed Recipe

Rinse pumpkin seeds under cool water and pick out the pulp and strings. (This is easiest just after you’ve removed the seeds from the pumpkin, before the pulp has dried.)

Place the pumpkin seeds in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet, stirring to coat. If you prefer, omit the oil and coat with non-stick cooking spray.

Sprinkle with salt and bake at 325 degrees F until toasted, about 25 minutes, checking and stirring after 10 minutes.

Let cool and store in an air-tight container.
Or omit salt and toss seeds with any of the suggested seasonings below:

Hot Spice Pumpkin Seeds: Add 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon chili pepper.

Sweet Pumpkin Seeds: Add 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice.

Cheese Pumpkin Seeds: Add 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning.

Scrapbooking Ideas

Scrap Hint: Roasting pumpkin seeds can be a wonderful photo and scrapbooking opportunity.

Go to the pumpkin field and take photos of your child selecting the pumpkin or show your child picking the squash right from your garden!

Take pictures of your child scooping out the pumpkin or squash seeds. Take more photos of cleaning them and baking the seeds.

Take a photo of the completed carved pumpkin and then eating the special roasted pumpkin seeds.

Another scrap ideas is to make a special Fall or Halloween recipe Album! Include photos and recipes of your roasted pumpkin seeds, and your adventures getting the seeds and baking them!

Start Planning for Apple Picking, A perfect time to Create Memories and Get Digital Scrap Photos!

Now that we are headed for fall, it is a great time to find out when your area has apple picking opportunities! It might mean going to a apple farm or farmers market, but either way you can have a great family event and get wonderful photos for digital scrapbooking projects!

Depending on the area where you live, apples are in season from September through November.

So take a few moments and check online to find your local orchard for exact dates.

Start thinking about all the photos you could get! First, picking apples in the apple orchard, not to mention an activity that brings the family together for a fun activity that provides a bit of sunshine and some exercise too!

But if you think you will only be getting Apple picking photos – then think again!

Today, Apple Orchards offer more than just apples! Often they include things like petting zoos, art and craft shows and more!

Some orchards include country stores which might include aromas of home baked breads, pies, jams, jelly, honey, apple cider, and crafts and souvenirs of the area.

Many of the farms will be selling other farmers market items like fresh produce or flowers, plants, and trees.

You might find in your area the apple picking time is September. So start planning today!

But you might also find that going later in the season if it is still possible in your area (October or November) also focuses attention on two of the most popular holidays around the country – Halloween and Thanksgiving! This gives lots of great photo and digital scrapbooking opportunities too!

If you do go around Halloween and Thanksgiving, then you might plan on picking up your seasonal decorations right from the apple farm.

So you might want to bring home more than apples, like pumpkins, gourds, and colorful centerpieces for your table. Don’t forget to pick up a few stalks of dried corn for your doorstep decorations, and if available a few scarecrows for the front lawn too.

If possible, find an orchard with a hayride or tractor rides this makes it extra fun and gives a chance for more seasonal family photos.

No matter the age, going to an apple farm can be a great way to spend the day, create fun family memories, and provide lots of digital scrapbooking photo opportunities!

When you are planning an apple picking adventure remember, call first to check on days and hours of operation before making the trip to the orchard.

Keep the Fun Going – Bake Up Some Love!

Also, when you get home the fun doesn’t have to stop!

Think about apple baking!

Like – homemade apple pie, apple sauce, apple butter, fritters, candied and caramel apples – all wonderful treats that can bring back memories of cooking with Grandma in the kitchen.

All the cooking and preparing the apples makes great family memories, fun photos, and wonderful digital scrapbooking pages too!

Once you have created all these wonderful family activities, scrap them to remember the fun too!

After an enjoyable experience, you’ll find you want to return again and again in person or thumbing through your scrapbooks memories of the the events!

Digitally Scrapping More than Your Harvest!

Scrap More than the Harvest!

Why didn’t I think of this sooner? Last spring we planted our first garden. I have wanted to plant one for years and decided that I had better get to it before the kids were all grown up, gone, and I had no help. So we did. We planted corn, peas, carrots, all the usual plants as well as sunflowers, (I love sunflowers), and pumpkins. I decided that it would be so much fun to give all the neighbor kids pumpkins to put on their porch for Halloween so we planted lots of pumpkins. They grew and grew and overtook the garden. I have a little corn, a few peas, and lots and lots of pumpkins. This makes me smile.

As we began to harvest our little garden I began to see scrapbook pages form in my mind, and then I realized I should have taken pictures from the very beginning. Why didn’t I think of this sooner? It would have been so cute to have pictures of my eight year old daughter digging in the mud and planting seeds. My fourteen and ten year old sons trying their best to hold on to the rotor tiller, and my twelve year old daughters face when her brother threw a worm in her all too perfect for gardening hair.

I guess I will just settle for the cute picture of the eight year old holding the sunflower up to her face, the ten year old picking a summer squash, the fourteen year old trying to make his way through the corn stalks, and the twelve year old standing in the bathroom ignoring the garden altogether.

You probably guessed it by now — that next time I will try to get pictures of the whole process! I’ve decided that I won’t wait until next spring to start! I will try to catch the whole process at other times too. All the wonderful life events that are coming up like carving faces in those Pumpkins we planted, raking up the Fall leaves, baking Christmas cookies, and so many more events will be great for scrapbooking but could be even more meaningful if I caught the whole process and not just the end results!

Hope in your digital scrapbooking projects that you can capture the journey of life and not just the destination!

Scanning multiple seed Packets in Photoshop Elements For Garden Digital Scrapbooking Projects!

If you are a gardener like me, then you might like to turn some of your seed packets into digital scrapbook embellishments!

You can scan one seed packet at a time (like we mentioned in yesterdays blog), or you scan a couple of images at a one time in Photoshop Elements!

However, unless you can separate your multiple images, after they are scanned together they will become one image in Photoshop Elements!

Learn how to Scan Multiple images and Separate them in Photoshop Elements:

If you don’t know how to scan multiple images and separate them – it is very easy.

Let me give you that information – so you, like me can save some time and start working on those seed packets that you want to turn into digital scrapbooking embellishments!

First, add several of seed packets on a scanner bed, leave some space between the packets.

Next open up your Photoshop Elements software program.

Once you have opened Photoshop Elements In Editor Mode, you will need to scan the photos or images to your scanner

Go to FILE > IMPORT > “YOUR PRINTER”

Next, A pop-up menu will appear. Select Preview (see arrow in red) to view the scanned images (seed packets) and to make the adjustments

Move the boxes that surround the photo until it fits the way that you would like it around your picture

Then select Scan (see other arrow in red) to begin scanning.

The scanned images will appear in the work area, but the images are as one combined photo.

Don’t stop now – you are so close!

Next, go to the top menu and select Image > Divide Scanned Photos

This is a very easy way to scan multiple images and to separate them quickly!

Plus Photoshop Elements is very good at getting the photos aligned straight, even if they are not put in the scanner that way!

This is a great tip for saving some time!

Now save them individually, and scrap your seed packets into a nice digital scrapbooking page!

Hope you try this at home with Photoshop Elements and you will quickly see how fun it is to add your own seed packets to your digital scrapbooking projects!

Make a Scanned Seed Packet into a Digital Scrapbooking Embellishment using Photoshop!

Now that it is is summer and if you like me are, planting flowers and vegetable gardens, then you might like to have some embellishments that match your garden.

It is easy and fun to make your own digital scrapbooking embellishments from scanned seed packets in Photoshop!

Follow along these simple steps in Photoshop so you can make your own digital scrapbooking Embellishment for your flower or Vegetable garden digital scrapbooking projects!

Here are the steps to do it:

First turn on your scanner, and add seed packet on your scanner bed.

If possible try to make it straight and in a good place on your scanner glass.

Close the lid and get ready to scan it using Photoshop and not the scanning software that came with your scanner!

Next open up your Photoshop software program.

Once you have opened Photoshop, you will need to scan the seed packet into your scanner

Go to FILE > IMPORT > WIA Support

Next, another pop-up window will appear

Select the scanner you wish to use.

Then, A pop-up menu will appear. Select Preview (see arrow in red) to view the scanned photo and to make the adjustments

Move the boxes that surround the photo until it fits the way that you would like it around your picture

Then select Scan Button (see single arrow ) to begin scanning.

The scanned photos will appear in the work area the photos as one combined photo.

If you have extra area around your seed packet you might want to take the Crop tool and cut it away!

Then when it is trimmed up – save it.

Then use your new digital scrapbooking embellishment on your next Digital Scrapbooking project!

You can use your new digital scrapbooking embellishment with lots of different supplies to make many different kinds of scrapbooking pages using the same seed packet you just scanned!

Have fun trying this scanning technique to create a digital scrapbooking embellishment in Photoshop!

3 Hobbies to Enjoy together – Gardening, Photography and Scrapbooking!

I read once that the top 3 hobbies in America were Gardening, Photography, and Scrapbooking ~ all my favorite things too!

I think each is very fun on it’s own, but I must confess that when I can do all three together I really have a good time!

So to get started I thought I would plant a tomato garden. My yard is small and we have to many bunnies, so I thought I would plant my tomatoes in pots.

I think in the end the pots actually helped with keeping the bunnies out and also cut down on the weeds too!

I like having my tomato garden. The tomatoes are tastier than the store bought ones and they are also organic!

Being organic means I get to share with some bugs but usually there is enough of a crop for all of us to get a few — even me!

I also like to take lots of photos of my yard. I have planted lots of flowers and we use some of those photos of the flowers to make digital scrapbooking embellishments and papers.

Today I was inspired to keep with my tomato garden theme and take photos of the tomatoes. I think it would be nice to use these photos to make a digital scrapbooking page with these images on it!

By getting right into the plant, and zooming in with your camera lens, you can take a picture of a green tomato that is turning ripe right on the vine! For me, this is a fun photographic opportunity! I find it interesting to record the the changes as they are happening!

I like capturing the leafs and tomatoes and sometimes I even catch a butterfly or snail with my camera! Because my tomatoes are organic and heirloom, the shapes on some are not as perfect as the store varieties.

I like this as it lends itself to different shapes and colors. Perfect for taking rather interesting photos!

I like all of the imperfections in the home grown tomatoes, and variations in colors – I think it is a beautiful explosion of colors and shapes!

Once I have some of the photos that are interesting to me I take them to my digital scrapbook software like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and make a digital scrapbooking page!

I will bring in the Digital Scrapbook Paper from my Old Fall Digital Scrapbooking Kit and then use the embellishments from the Fall Digital Scrapbooking Kit.

I think both of these digital scrapbooking kits look like the earth, and coordinate with a garden theme!

Next I will arrange all the supplies and add my garden photos. I like combining the plants growing in the garden with a tomato changing from green to red, to the final harvest of fully ripened tomatoes! Yes, the green one in the picture is ripe – it is a green variety!

I think I will take this digital scrapbooking page and make it the cover to my Tomato recipes that I want to digitally scrap – did I just come up with yet another favorite hobby? Cooking!

Well, it is fun to find ways to take all your favorite hobbies and combine them. It will be nice to share the digital scrapbooking pages and recipes with family and friends too. This will make a nice gift — “just for fun” or for a special holiday!

Decorate Your Kitchen with Your Scrapped Garden-Themed Projects!

The other day I saw the most beautiful pictures of tomatoes.

Some of these tomatoes were hanging on the bush, some ripe some not.

Some of the tomatoes were sitting on a plate, beautifully placed red, green, yellow, and orange. Really bright and brilliant colors.

These garden photos gave me a home decorating idea.

Wouldn’t it be fun to take pictures all summer long of the different vegetables and fruits growing in their different stages in my garden, make a digital scrapbooking page, and frame it to hang on the wall of my kitchen?

For example, a picture of a pumpkin patch with the flowers in bloom. Then a picture of the small green pumpkin, a picture of the yellow pumpkin, and finally a picture of the large bright orange pumpkin. To add a nice personalized touch I would mix in a few photos of my children planting, and playing near the garden too. This could be done with any variety fruit or vegetable that you grow in your garden, but I picked a pumpkin because of the dramatic colors.

Use Digital Scrapbooking Kits and My Photos!

I took a Gardening Digital Scrapbooking Kit and added photos to complete the look. Also, digital scrapbooking pages could be scrapbooked with your favorite gardening quote, like this one: “ Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature, it will never fail you.” - Mohandas K. Gandhi. Remember, you can always add WordArt and digital scrapbooking embellishments to make your digital scrapbooking project really stand out.

Once your digital scrapbooking page is completed, then you print your page by an online company, and even order it to be framed! This online printing company, Snapfish.com, will print and frame your photos or digital scrapbooking page!

Although having a printing company print your projects is nice, you can always print on your own home printer using photographic paper and frame your pages yourself. If you need training on how to use an online company to print scrap project at home using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, then get the Getting Started Series Training, specifically, Lesson 6 in Elements and Lesson 5 for Photoshop that teaches all about saving, printing ,and using online printing companies too!

Frame Your Design and Hang it Up!

Another idea I had after I framed my digital scrapbooking page was to also have each picture in an individual 4×6 frame and have them on the sides of the larger framed digital scrapbooking page!
