Today if you look online you can find lots of great PDF Documents that can make fun digital scrapbooking supplies!
That’s right — digital scrapbooking supplies! That come from PDF Documents!
It almost sounds too amazing to be true.
At first it might be hard to imagine how to get a PDF document to work as a digital scrapbooking embellishment or page, but in this article we will explain how to do it!
For example, FamilyFun.com offers this great Fairy Frame in a PDF Document
(PDF is Adobe Acrobat file format).
One thing you can do with this PDF document is to print it out, then cut it out and paste it into a physical traditional scrapbooking page. This is how most people plan to use this type of document.
But if you know how to do it you can add it to a digital scrapbooking project too!
Here are the steps to scrap PDF files in digital scrapbooking projects!
5 Steps to Scrapping PDF files:
Step 1: Go to the website that has the PDF document you want use in your scrapbooking project, and save it to your computer.
If you are following along with this article go to FamilyFun.com’s Fairy Frame ( http://familyfun.go.com/assets/cms/pdf/printables/0707e_fairy_frame.pdf )and then save the document to your computer. Use the save button or go to File > Save
Save the document to a place on your computer that you can find easily.
Step 2: Next, open the PDF document in either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Next a pop-up in Photoshop Elements will appear, click on the document icon, make and select the settings and click OK
If you are using Photoshop instead of Elements, then you will do the same thing, click on the document icon, make and select the settings and click OK
Step 3: Select the frame with the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Because the PDF Documents has some extra writing on it, and we only want the Frame, using the Rectangular Marquee Tool in this example can help us select only the Frame. Also notice that when this PDF is in either Photoshop or Elements the white areas are now transparent!
Step 4: Once the Frame is selected, then with the Move Tool drag and drop it on to digital scrapbooking paper or project.
Step 5: Scrap it! Now the frame is on your digital scrapbooking paper, add a drop shadow to give it depth. Then add your digital photo, some text and other digital scrapbooking supplies. We used the Flower Garden Digital Scrapbooking Kit 2 to finish off this scrapbooking project
Now we have turned this PDF Document into a digital frame we can use it to scrap making Digital Scrapbook Pages, or other things like mouse pads, calendar pages, cards and more!
