Sometimes you want digital scrapbooking to mimic traditional scrapbooking.
Adding those cute brads to fasten photos and other elements on on your scrapbooking page is one way to do this.
If you have been a traditional scrapbooker then you probably have used brads in many of your scrapbooking 
projects.
Brads come in round shapes but they also come in other shapes as well.
See the images of packages of brads that you can buy at any craft or scrapbooking store to use in traditional scrapbooking projects.
But did you know it is very easy to create digital ones for all of your digital scrapbooking needs?!
Make Digital Brads in Photoshop Elements
It is true you can quite easily create a digital brad in Photoshop Elements. See the image below:
In this example we made a digital brad that is made to look like it is holding our photo and matting on our digital scrapbooking page.
Here are the 4 steps to make a digital brad in Photoshop Elements:
Step 1: Create a new Document.
- Select File>New> Blank File
- New Document Settings: 2×2 inches, 300 ppi, transparent background
- Click Ok
Step 2: Pick a Color 
- Click on the Foreground Color Chip and pick the color you want your brad to be
- Click Ok
Step 3: Select the Shape Tool
- Pick the circle shape
- Draw out the circle on your document
- Go to the layer panel and right click and select simplify layer
Step 4: Add a Bevel and Make Adjustments
- In the Effects Panel, choose Layer Styles
- Choose Simple Bevel and Click Apply
- Go to layer and click on fx to bring up menu
- Use the slider under size, pull to a larger number to make the brad more rounded
Now put the digital scrapbooking brad on to your digital scrapbooking page.
