Sometimes when opening Photoshop Elements do you ever get tired of having to deal with the Welcome Screen? I do!
It seems to slow me down so I often wish I could go directly to the Editor in Photoshop Elements 8. Sadly, the Welcome screen doesn’t seem to completely disappear but you can more directly go to the Editor (or Organizer) if you try this Quick Tip!
Try this Quick Tip to get more directly to the Editor (or Organizer) and put the Welcome screen more in the background.
First, start Photoshop Elements 8.
Once Photoshop Elements 8 has started you will see the Welcome Screen. Instead of selecting Organizer or Editor button, go to the top of the Welcome Screen (see red arrow below) and click on it for a pop-up menu box
When the pop-up menu box appears, select Just show Welcome Screen if you want to have the default setting (see #1). Or if you would like the Organizer to open each time you start Elements then choose – Always Launch Elements Organizer behind the Welcome Screen (see #2). If you want the Editor to open when you start Elements then select – Always Launch Photoshop Elements Editor behind the Welcome Screen (see #3).
I wanted the Editor to open so I selected the last option (Always Launch Photoshop Elements Editor behind the Welcome Screen) and then clicked the OK button.
Now when I start Photoshop Elements 8, I will see the Editor behind the Welcome screen I can just click the close button (X) on the Welcome screen to get rid of it (see #1) or I can just click some place on the Editor (see #2) and it will come forward with the Welcome screen put behind.
I like just clicking on the Editor as this let’s me start working faster! (See #1)
You can still see the Welcome Window below the Editor (see #2) but I can ignore it! This Quick Tip helps me get to Photoshop Elements Editor quicker!
Now each time I open Elements 8 it will go directly to the Editor with the Welcome screen on top.
If I would like it to go back to the Original default with the Welcome Screen only opening, or if I want it to Open the Organizer with the Welcome Screen instead. You just need to change the settings in the Welcome Screen pop-out box. Remember to get to this at the top of the Welcome Screen!
Take a moment and try this tip and see if it makes your workflow easier!
Enjoy!
