Create your own place cards for your Winter Olympics Party with digital scrapbooking supplies.
It is fun to have custom place cards for special holidays, parties and other occasions. So for your Winter Olympics Party you might want to make a few and either use them at a table for each guest as a place card, or to use next to a dish as a food name card on a buffet table. I like to use them at my house to show which foods are Gluten-Free for my guests with this special food need, but you can use them in many different ways at a party – such as identifying foods that are extra spicy — and more! It is easy to make them – just follow these simple steps!
Make a basic place card template. One very easy way to make place cards for the Winter Olympics is to open up Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and make a new document.
Next with the Rectangle Tool draw out several place cards on a 8.5 x 11 new document or digital scrap page. I could get 4 place cards on my template.
You can even measure and put a dotted line in the middle for helping with knowing where the design should go and how to fold it later.
After you have made your template in Photoshop or Elements you are ready to decorate your place card.
Next Load some sport brushes into Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and decorate the place cards. In this example we loaded the Winter Sport Brushes found in the Scrap Shop in the Custom Brush Set Section.
Once the brushes where installed and loaded I was able to pick a brush, a color and “stamp” the design on the place cards or food name cards.
Pick only one side of the card to “stamp” a design. You can design your place cards or food name cards any way you like with any color you would like to match the theme of your party!
Continue adding the different designs on each of the place cards.
As you can see in the example – I am using the brush tool and then I click on the document to “stamp” a snowflake next to the skier. Add all the images you want on each of the place cards.
I like the Winter Sports Custom Brushes as they have all the icons for the the Winter Olympic events, and the kit also has Words like “Winter Olympic Party” and even snowflakes! All this really helps me make a great designs on my place cards, or food cards for my Winter Olympics Party!
When you are done adding the designs, then add some text like guests names or information about the food!
For example with the Text Tool, I added several names to make Place Cards, and then I added Food Labels to make the Food Cards.
Now I will use both types of cards at my Winter Olympics Party.
Next print out your cards, then cut 
them, and fold them along the line.
Once you print the cards, and trim them up then they are ready for you fold them in half along the fold line.
After they are all ready, then put them at the table for your guest to find their places, or use them around the food to let people know what you are serving!
You can also use these same custom brushes used in the place cards (Winter Sports Brushes) to enhance your digital scrapbooking projects. Also, I used this same set to “stamp” several places in my digital scrapbooking page – see the red arrows below:
I think the custom brushes really personalized this Quick Page and other digital scrapbooking pages, and the custom brushes took this scrapbooking project to the next level!
