Whether you’re planning a super-snuggly stay-at-home date, or about to be whisked away on an exciting romantic adventure, your Valentine’s Day photos can look fabulous on your Facebook Page or Scrap Page (no matter what you end up doing) with these five cool Photoshop Elements photo effects!
1. Black & White. Nothing says dramatic and passionate like a black and white photo. Gather your very best shots of you and your hunny and convert them from color to oh-so-fabulous black and white. Tip: Black and white photos exaggerate the feeling or mood of the photo, so try to use one with few distractions and “noise.” For romantic Valentine’s Day B&W photos, avoid using pics with a lot of background and scenery, and instead choose close-up portrait shots of you and your baby.

2. Black & White… with a Touch of Color. One step up from converting your photos to black and white, you crank up the intensity when you bring back a little color to something special in a photo.
For Valentine’s Day pics, add the color back to something sentimental: your lips, your eyes, or something romantic included in the pic- a rose, a heart-shaped valentine, etc.

3. Custom Shapes. You can add some cool, funky flare to your Heart-Day photos using custom shapes! Add hearts, X’s and O’s, or other love-inspired shapes to create an incredible-looking background!

4. Text. Adding sweet-nothings to a favorite photo can add a little love to a special pic. Include you and your valentine’s name, the date, or even the special place you had a romantic date! Include romantic sayings, phrases, quotes (poetry or songs), and use a dreamy-looking text to inject some special Valentine’s Day photo-flare!

5. Artistic Effects. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to go all out and make a regular ol’ photo anything but ordinary. Use artistic effects within Photoshop Elements to make your portrait photos look like charcoal sketches, watercolor masterpieces, or little works of (digital) acrylic genius. It’s incredibly easy to add artistic effects, it only takes seconds, and, trust me, you’re friends will wonder how the heck you managed to create such a cool heart-day photo! They may even ask you to add effects to their romantic pics too!
