Making a Gift Calendar from Quick Pages!
I like to make holiday gifts from my digital scrapbooking pages!
One of the top gifts I love to make and to give my family each year is a Calendar!
I love to scrap the pages of each family member and have a theme for each of the months.
However, sometimes I just run out of time and need a little help, so this year I used the 12 Month Year-Around Quick Page Digital Scrapbooking Kit 1.
This Quick Page kit includes pre-designed holiday Quick Pages so you can create pretty digital scrapbooking projects FAST!
Basically the Quick Pages just need you to add your photos, and maybe a little text and you are done! That really saves time!
The 12 Month Year-Around Quick Page Digital Scrapbooking Kit 1 is great to make calendars, albums, or any scrap project that needs a variety of months or holidays!
I was able have a special and different page for each month with many pages having holiday themes included in them!
Also, I was able to quickly add my photos, some text and personalize with some extra embellishments from other kits I had and make my 2010 calendar gifts really quick! In fact I was able to make them so quickly I caught the one day special that gave me 35% off – so not only did I save time, but also I was able to save money!!!
Here is how I did it – First, I got the 12 Month Year-Around Quick Page kit and loaded each of the 12 pages into Photoshop Elements (you can use Photoshop too!)
I added some text and some photos – really it was that easy!!! If you are not sure how to work with Quick Pages in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements then get the Getting Started in Digital Scrapbooking Series it explains how to work with Quick Pages and gives a few tips and tricks on working with them.
Next, after I had finished making my Scrapbooking pages and added all my photos, text, and extra embellishments to make them personalized then I uploaded them to an online printing company.
I used the online printing company Snapfish.com, and created my 2010 calendars. I put the digital scrapbooking pages on the months I wanted (#1), and then when I had everything just right I pushed the order calendar button (#2)
I let them know how many I wanted, and paid them and now I just got notice that my calendars have been made and are in the mail – in plenty of time for me to wrap them and give them as Christmas Presents!
(PS. If you want to see video training of how to use an online printing company with your digital scrapbooking pages – then check out the Getting Started in Digital Scrapbooking Series as it shows how to do this!!! Lesson 6 for Photoshop Elements users and Lesson 5 for Photoshop Users! )
It is very exciting to give these special calendars each year to my family. It is a great way for us to remember the wonderful times in our life and I love how the scrapbooking pages make the calendar extra special!
Using the pre-made Quick Pages really helps save time too!
If you would like to see how you can take a regular scrapbooking kit and make scrapbooking pages that you can use for calendars, aprons, mouse pads and more then you should check out the Christmas Project page at Digital Scrapbooks and More’s main website!
