Gingerbread Houses and Digital Scrapbooking

December 15th, 2009

Making Gingerbread houses and scrapbooking them When my children were little I used to have them each make gingerbread house on the 1st of December. I would notice that each day after we made the gingerbread house that some of the gum drops would be missing. This happened each day until Christmas day when all the candy and some of the walls on the gingerbread house was gone!

I think this was fine, it even makes me chuckle a bit thinking about how sneaky they thought they were – it was fun for them to eat the gingerbread house slowly over the month of December. This is part of the wonders of childhood!  How could I deny them?!  I only wish I would have taken the photos of the gingerbread house being eaten over time!  Gingerbread houses remind me of childhood and the Christmas Season!

So you can probably guess how surprised I was when my grown children showed up for Christmas and wanted to make a gingerbread house too! My daughter and her husband really had fun assembling a gingerbread house kit that I had bought at Costco. It turned out to be a nice activity that filled the house with festive fun  even though we didn’t have any small children around. And this time all the treats on the Gingerbread House stayed put – no sneaking eating the house and the decorations!

I think building a gingerbread house is fun for both young children and those young at heart too! If you haven’t ever built a gingerbread house for the holiday’s it never is to late to start.

Scrap your gingerbread house adventures Then of course taking photos and digitally scrapbooking the memory is a great way to preserve those special events!

It is so fun to look back on the all the holiday activities through your scrapbooking albums and pages.

Just take your digital photos and combine them with Digital Scrapbooking Supplies or Kits then send them to online printing companies to make into an album or print them on your home printer or even email the images to friends and family!

When you turn your photos into digital scrapbooking pages you have lots of options for keeping your memories. You can even burn the scrapbooking pages onto a CD and give a copy to your family as a Christmas Gift too!
