This year I have been looking forward to Fall more than ever. The beautiful colors and the sunshine that we are enjoying in my area this year have brought out the itch for me to get the house decorated for fall and the cookies baking.
Because almost everything in my life centers around my kids and their activities at this point in my life, I have been drumming up some new craft ideas that they might enjoy.
So I thought that I might share them with you and your kids.
Here are some Fall Craft Ideas:

We always love to go into the mountains to pick leaves off of the trees when they are changing color.
We create several crafts from these.
I always take a camera with me so that the kids will remember these activities and hopefully carry the traditions on to the next generation.
I also enjoy watching the kids as they go through the scrap books later on and remember the entire process of creating their favorite crafts.
The first thing we do when we come home from the mountains is pick out our finest leaves.
Each child chooses between 6 and 10 leaves. Then we put the leaves in a book to become flat and dry.
Later in the month, we take the leaves out and put them on a piece of construction paper and put it between two sets of clear contact paper. Then we cut the corners of the contact paper to make the perfect place mats for a decorative Fall table.
The next idea is very simple. I get an old canning jar, or flower pot and paint it! When it is dry I tie a colorful ribbon around it. I then let the kids arrange small branches with colorful leaves on them to create a nice bouquet. They love this and the floral arrangement really turns out pretty.
Another simple twist on this is to pick foliage or even weeds that are turning brown, (or in our area wheat that was missed during the harvest). Next , pick a rustic color in a spray paint that you like. Spray the bouquet of whatever dry items you have chosen, and there you have it, a beautiful floral decoration made from painted weeds! It is surprising how attractive this can be! You can also tie a ribbon of your choice around the stems to make a decoration that can lie down in a window seal etc.
My favorite craft is made out of a pumpkin. No need to wait for Halloween to use all those cute little pumpkins in your garden. Pick one, even a green or yellow one is cute, and clean it out.
Make sure that after you have carefully cut the top off and cleaned it out that you wipe the cut area with Vaseline so that the pumpkin will stay fresh looking longer.
I like to then fill the pumpkin with fall colored flowers, fake flowers are perfect, or the fall branches full of leaves that you have picked work nicely also.
After my pumpkin or vase is full of branches with leaves or with colored foliage whatever might be the case, I take photos of the crafts and the kids and then I make some digital scrapbooking pages, next I have them printed onto beautiful Fall Scrapbooking Albums, and put them around the house so the kids can enjoy them.
It is so much fun for them to choose the pictures to scrapbook, and reminisce about memories of the fall adventures we have had. When I remember I like to include some of the things they are saying about these fall adventures and craft-making activities and include their statements right in the digital scrapbooking page too!
Grandparents and neighbors also love receiving one of these crafts from my kids to brighten up their home for a couple of weeks. I can also take photos of these people receiving the crafts and what they said in my digital scrapbooking pages too! This makes for a really nice album that I can make copies of and give as gifts too!
So, remember to take lots of snapshots during your kids crafting activities, before and after the craft is made, write down the cute things that are said, take photos of those that are getting the craft too and then turn them into great digital scrapbooking pages that will be fun family memories for years to come!
Have a Happy Fall and try your hand at some of these fun Fall Crafts and Scrapbooking pages!
