A “Digi Know Tip” about how to get organized with your oh-so-many photos and digital scrapbooking supplies!

Question: Dear Ms. Digi Know, I have been digital scrapbooking for awhile within Photoshop Elements, but it’s come to a point where I have too many photos and digital scrapbooking supplies! I just can’t seem to get organized! What do I do? I’m all messed up!

Sincerely, All Messed Up

Answer: Hello Messed Up, OK, it’s time for a Ms. Digi Know intervention: Girl! You need to get organized, you hot-mess! If you are using Photoshop Elements, then it’s all about using your new Photoshop Elements best friend: The Organizer. I get it, it makes sense that as we transfer our digital photos or digital scrapbooking supplies to our computer, they can somehow seem to disappear into the mysterious corners of our computer. We can’t remember where we put that photo, what we named the folder, etc. …Or if you’re like me, you just have so many photos of all your millions of friends (and fans) that, really, your zillions of pics are just out of control! That’s where our super-hero, the Organizer, can step in and rescue us! When we bring our photos or digital scrapbooking supplies into the Organizer, it automatically adds them to your very own catalog, organizing them by date.

And the fun doesn’t stop there, no. Our organizing friend is a wild one. Depending on how organized you really want to be, you can set up additional catalogs in the Organizer, categorizing your pics or supplies by other themes. You can even add keyword tags to help make finding photos or supplies later on extremely easy-peasy.

Ya know what else? The Organizer in Photoshop Elements is, in many ways, the backbone for setting your photos or digital scrapbooking pages up for some of the other creative projects you can do in Photoshop Elements! …But that’s a whole ‘nother story for another day.

So Messed Up, it’s time to clean up: use the Organizer next time you have new photos, digital scrapbooking supplies, or even digital scrapbooking pages.

PS. I also just got word that tomorrow’s blog will feature even more info about the Organizer! I’d tune in if I were you!

MAC Elements User Wants to Know about The Organizer

Question: Dear Ms. Digi Know, I have Photoshop Elements  6, but I am a Macintosh User. I keep hearing references about this great thing called “The Organizer”, but I don’t see it in my program…?

Sincerely, What is going on!

Answer: Hey What is going on, Well, if you are a Mac Photoshop Elements User,  then you actually don’t have the Organizer, sweetness… But don’t despair! If you have the Mac Photoshop Elements 6 version, then you do have the Adobe Bridge program instead! This is the same robust photo organizer that comes with Adobe’s Create Suite 3. So, just be on the lookout for tips and help for the Bridge program instead of the Organizer. (Note: version 6 is the latest version for MAC users).

Till next time,

Ms Digi Know

Remember, check back tomorrow for a blog that will feature even more info about the Organizer!
