How To Tip: Applying a Shadow behind a Shape in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements!

Here is a quick tip for Photoshop Elements or Photoshop!

 For Photoshop Elements ~ Do This:

First Select the Shape Tool (#1).

Then select the shape you would like (#2).

After  you have made a selection then draw out the custom shape on your document. (#3).

 

Adding a shadow to a shape Then change to the Move Tool and select the Shape Layer (#1).

Next go to the Effects Panel in the workspace (#2).

Select a drop shadow from the Effects Panel and then click on the Apply button to set the shadow behind the shape.

Applying a shadow makes the shape look more 3-D and “pop” on the page.

If you like, you can adjust the shadow by clicking on the fx button and making the desired adjustments.

How to apply a Shadow to a Shape in Photoshop

For Photoshop ~ Do this:
Drawing a shape and applying a shadow in Photoshop Select the Shape Tool then draw on document.

After drawing a custom shape select that layer and go to top Menu and select Layer >Layer Style > Drop Shadow.

A menu box appears that allows you to customize the shadowing.

When you apply a shadow it adds depth and interest to your document or Digital Scrapbooking Pages!
