I read once that the top 3 hobbies in America were Gardening, Photography, and Scrapbooking ~ all my favorite things too!
I think each is very fun on it’s own, but I must confess that when I can do all three together I really have a good time!
So to get started I thought I would plant a tomato garden. My yard is small and we have to many bunnies, so I thought I would plant my tomatoes in pots.
I think in the end the pots actually helped with keeping the bunnies out and also cut down on the weeds too!
I like having my tomato garden. The tomatoes are tastier than the store bought ones and they are also organic!
Being organic means I get to share with some bugs but usually there is enough of a crop for all of us to get a few — even me!
I also, like to take lots of photos of my yard I have planted lots of flowers and we use some of those photos of the flowers to make digital scrapbooking embellishments and papers.
Today I was inspired to keep with my tomato garden theme and take photos of the tomatoes. I think it would be nice to use the photos and make a digital scrapbooking page with these images on it!
By getting right into the plant, and zooming in with your camera lens, then you can take a picture of a green tomato that is turn ripe right on the vine! For me, this is a fun photographic opportunity! I find it intesting to record the the changes as they are happening!
I like capturing the leafs and tomatoes and sometimes I even catch a butterfly or snail with my camera! Because my 
tomatoes are organic and heirloom the shapes on some are not as perfect as the store varieties.
I like this as it lends itself to different shapes and colors. Perfect for taking rather interesting photos!
I like all of the imperfections in the home grown tomatoes, and variations in colors – I think it is a beautiful explosion of colors and shapes!
Once I have some of the photos that are interesting to me I take them to my digital scrapbook software like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and make a digital scrapbooking page!
I will bring in the Digital Scrapbook Paper from my Old Fall Digital Scrapbooking Kit and then use the embellishments from the Fall Digital Scrapbooking Kit.
I think both of these digital scrapbooking kits look like the earth, and coordinate with a garden theme!
Next I will arrange all the supplies and add my garden photos. I like combining the plants growing in the garden with a tomato changing from green to red, to the final harvest of fully ripened tomatoes! Yes, the green one in the picture is ripe – it is a green variety!
I think I will take this digital scrapbooking page and make it the cover to my Tomato recipes that I want to digitally scrap – did I just come up with yet another favorite hobby? Cooking!
Well it is fun to find ways to take all your favorite hobbies and combine them. It will be nice to share the digital scrapbooking pages and recipes with family and friends too. This will make a nice gift — “just for fun” or for a special holiday!
