Ever snap a photo of your adorable little fur-ball, only to be horrified by how evil your precious angel can look?
I only speak from experience.
There have been plenty of times where I take a few shots of my Pomeranians (aka- the “twins”) only to get green-eyed, demon-possessed-looking puppy pics.
Not attractive.
Pet green-eye is similar to the human-version, red-eye, but removing green-eye from your pet photos is a whole ‘nother story…
It’s not quite as easy to remove green-eye as it is to remove red-eye within Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. It can be frustrating as a beginner, and for those of you that aren’t very familiar with photo editing, these green-eyed monster photos usually end up deleted instead of proudly posted on the fridge where they belong.
Well, now no more! Get rid of that nasty-looking pet green-eye from digital photos within Photoshop OR Photoshop Elements by following these 4 simple steps:
1. Select the Burn Tool and make your brush slightly larger than the green pupil.
2. Left click with your mouse over the green pupil and “burn” the eye until the green is no more. (I know the word “burn” is not very nice, especially as your fixing your precious baby’s pupil… “Cloud Tool” or “Contact Lenses Tool” would be a much nicer term for this green-eye removal too- I know. My apologies. But I can at least promise you that it was not I who was in charge of naming this Photoshop/Photoshop Elements Tool).
3. Your baby will still look possessed with black pupils, that’s why you need to draw reflecting lights within their pupils (this time, nice and normal-looking white ones). Choose the Custom Shapes Tool and draw one or two small white circle reflections.
4. The pet green eye is gone! Re-save and rename your picture-perfect pic!
