familyScrap Children of all ages can get involved in Digital Scrapbooking. Not to mention, manyt kids
are cvery computer-savy these days! Letting them be part of
the Digital Scrapbooking process will create lasting family memories and will also encourage them to get involved in an activity that can evolve into a hobby of their own!

We have 6 interesting tips to help children get started in Digital Scrapbooking. Today’s blog we will cover three of them, and stay tuned, because tomorrow we’ll cover the other three!

Tip 1: Let them take some of the photos for a Digital Scrapbooking Project! Before you start Digital Scrapbooking, have your child help take the photos. Children love “playing Photographer,” taking photos, and you might be surprised by interesting shots they capture for your Digital Scrapbooking Pages! You might make it a game, and give them an assignment; for example, for one week take three pictures each day of the most unique “find” of the day. Perhaps the most interesting thing that day is a lady bug, an interesting rock, a baby sister doing something funny… or even the dog sleeping! At the end of the week, use these photos to create a Digital Scrapbooking album from a child’s perspective of the world.

Children Digital Scrapbooking Tip 2: Let the child pick the Digital Scrapbooking papers and backgrounds. Children love to be part of the planning process, so a parent could select three or four different Digital Sscrapbooking papers to use as the foundation of the Scrapbooking project, then let the child pick the final paper color or type from those options. Depending on their age you can let them set the digital paper into place on your computer within the graphics program like Photoshop or Elements. For younger kids, let them watch you place the paper on the transparent background and begin creating the Digital Scrapbooking page.

Tip 3: Children love picking the photos for each Digital Scrapbooking page! Once the digital paper is in place within the graphics software, have your children pick their favorite photos to use in the Digital Scrapbook page. Have them pick a specific number, explaining that only two or three photos will be included on each particular page, and that they need to pick their favorites. Talk about each of the pictures; ask them why they chose each picture and why they like it. See what comes out of the conversation. Write down what your children say. You might even end up using some of the dialog in the actual Digital Scrapbooking page!

Digital Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to preserve family memories, but it also can help create memories if you ask your children to get involved in the process!

Check back tomorrow for the other three tips to include chidren in Digital Scrapbooking projects!

Happy Scrapping and Make some Lasting Memories!
