More of YOU in Your Year Book!

May 13th, 2009

friends At the end of the year, it’s so exciting to get our Yearbooks! I don’t know about you, but I’d always go through and look through for photos of myself. I’d flip through the pages, hunt through the book, and look for myself and special familiar faces. It kind of reminded myself of the kids books “Where’s Waldo” where you look through a mess of a page to find this awkward guy named “Waldo” with the striped red and white shirt somewhere hidden within the page and book…

I could expect to see myself in certain photos- sports, clubs, and school hobby pics- but it was always so exciting to find a random photo here or there of myself or some of my friends in a place I never expected, or a photo I never even realized was shot! Yearbooks are a lot of fun and a great way to reminisce over another year successfully completed.

But in addition to the regular school Yearbook, how fun would it be to create your OWN YEARBOOK? I say, why not do it this year! Make your own Yearbook filled with the fun stuff… the things you really care about! You could create your own photo book of you and your friends: some of the pics you shot at lunch, after school activities, soccer games and band practice! You could create your own book with tons of photos specifically of you and the people that were especially special to you so that you could look back at the year and all the things that you have done, friends you’ve made, and just create something special to remind yourself about how much you’ve grown!

GradFriends To make your own Yearbook, compile a bunch of school photos- as many as you possibly can- of you, your friends, even pics of your parents and family  members at some of the school functions they attended for you.

Next, your going to need to digitally scrap them. If you’re not sure how to start Digital Scrapbooking, it’s SUPER-EASY! Try out the Getting Started Series Digital Scrapbooking CD which not only introduces you and familiarizes you with Adobe Photoshop Elements, but it also dives into Digital Scrapbooking and makes it really easy to learn. By knowing how to digitally scrap, you can combine your photos with pretty papers and embellishments and even add notes and comments about the people in the photo and any special (or funny) memories that go along with it!

After you scrap your own Yearbook Pages, turn them into a physical book, by sending your digital scrapbooking pages to an Online Printing Company. Lesson 6 within the Getting Started Series Digital Scrapbooking Training teaches all about saving and printing- it also reviews how to use an Online Printer to make things- such as Yearbooks and Photo Books!

Why not create a Yearbook that will be even more personalized, and even more special to rummage through… with a lot more YOU! Even bring it to school and ask your friends and teachers to sign your customized Yearbook in addition to your regular one! And although you won’t get extra credit in school for making a second Yearbook, you’ll at least have a lot of fun and create something that might be a lot more meaningful to you!

Happy Scrapping,

Jennifer
