With Easter only a few weeks away I like to gather up my digital scrapbooking supplies and start planning what kinds of photos I want to take at all the Easter celebrations.
I like to look at the papers, frames or embellishments or if I have Quick Pages too, then I like to scan them and imagine what photos I might take and what ones would fit best where and on what.
I think this helps me look for better photos or take photos with a theme.
Of course, some photos can not be planned and I am excited to take those too when they happen!
Some of the photos one can think about taking is of the Easter Egg hunts — when I was younger I dreamed of doing that hunt in green grass and flowers – but growing up in Idaho that grass was often not green by Easter, sometimes we even had Snow on the ground! But usually it was just to cold so we did all our Easter Egg hunts in the living room. We soon learned all the places the eggs would be hidden and had favorite places to look for our Egg surprises. If I could take the pictures of this time I would include the Egg Hunt as it happened our family only took pictures of the Easter Dresses we wore to 
Church and sometimes us and our Easter Baskets!
When you think ahead about the scrapbooking – I think one seems to include more. One thinks of the event or celebration from beginning to end. How do we prepare? Like Making the Easter Eggs — great shots to include in a digital scrapbooking album is the whole process from making them to finding them and even eating them!!!
When I was taking photos of my little family before digital scrapbooking I seemed to focus more on just the end photos – like the girls in their Easter Dresses but didn’t realize the whole process was interesting and probably the part that stayed in our memories and later we wish we had recorded!
This year take a moment and think about what you might be doing, what will you go through to prepare? How you can capture the whole process and not just the final results! Take a look at your digital scrapbooking supplies and imagine what photos or events might happen and how they might appear on the pages. But remember to be flexible as life usually turns out different from what we imagine! But at least you will be aware that the story is shifting and be able to capture that too!
